Join Rufus in The Recovery Project Event In NYC!

A&E Network is launching The Recovery Project to help raise national awareness that addiction is a treatable disease and recovery is possible. The Recovery Project --inspired by the incredible response to the Emmy-nominated documentary series Intervention -- strives to shed light on the scope of the addiction crisis, and its impact on society.

The Recovery Project kicks off on Saturday September 27th at 8:30am with a public celebration in New York City. Thousands of people will join together for a symbolic walk across the historic Brooklyn Bridge. The celebration continues in City Hall Park where Rufus will perform a special solo musical performance after the walk at approximately 11:15am.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, Rufus' show in La Coruna, Spain is canceled. Instead, he will be performing a second solo show in Malaga, Spain on October 3, 2008 at Teatro Cervantes. Thank you for your patience and our deepest apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Hi,

Rufus here on my way to Rhode Island. You might have seen or heard some things written and mentioned in the media this past week about my opera, "Prima Donna." I'd like to take this opportunity to set the record straight. The 2009 Premiere is on schedule. There will be a major announcement about it next month. I remain grateful to Peter Gelb and the Met for their interest and encouragement but as the opera began to take shape, it became apparent that as much as everyone loved the music, we just could not agree on the language and the date for the Premiere. I still look forward to working with the Met sometime in the future.

Hello fans! Exciting news: Rufus will be appearing on Sundance Channel's new show, "Spectacle: Elvis Costello with..." hosted by Elvis Costello himself. The more exciting news: YOU can be a part of the audience for the taping of this episode at the Apollo Theatre in New York City! Here's the info:

Date: Monday, September 8, 2008
Time: Doors open at 6:45pm
Doors close promptly at 7:30pm
Location: The Apollo Theatre, 235 West 125th Street in New York City
