Orianthi Featured in the New York Times as Saving Trees
Orianthi was one of the artists featured in a New York Times article about turning to alternative woods in the manufacturing of guitars to save rare trees.
"Rock stars like Sting and Dave Matthews, among others, are lending their names to the
effort. Orianthi, a 22-year-old Australian protégée of Carlos Santana who recently signed
with Geffen Records, bought a new $3,000 Martin made of red birch and cherry, both
sustainable woods. “Guitars made from alternative woods generally don’t sound very
good,” she said, “but when I started playing this one, it sounded amazing, as good as the
traditional instruments. I’m using it to record my new album.”

Orianthi at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Blues Festival
Orianthi has certainly accomplished impressive milestones in her young and burgeoning life, with more done than what many 20 year old girls have. She's played on stage with Carlos Santana, she's being heralded as the next greatest guitarist of all time, and she's recently played with over 20 of the greatest guitarists.
Orianthi performed at the Eric Clapton's Crossroads Blues Festival at Toyota Park in Chicago on July 28, 2007.
Orianthi joined the ranks of over 20 of the world's greatest guitarists including Eric Claption, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Buddy Guy, BB King, John Mayer, Willie Nelson, Robert Randolph, Jimmy Vaughan and many more.
