Shwayze Check out Shwayze in The Los Angeles Times
The rapper, born Aaron Smith, has had a charmed rise to his complicated kind of prospective fame. The show, which is set to debut tonight, is built around Shwayze's tongue-in-cheek biography of growing up as "the only black kid in Malibu" in the most picturesque trailer park in America. As the show reveals, his childhood home has a knockout ocean view. Shwayze's music is one of many arms promoting the idea of "Shwayze-ness:" a pan-ethnic, happy-go-lucky and media-saturated California fantasy. "We live in a place with palm trees, blue skies and chicks coming over," Adler said. "It's a lifestyle we're selling, and it's my lifestyle. Let's live together."

Weezer 07/22/08 In The Land Of The King
...Thanks to all on behalf of Scott for his birthday wishes. Scott celebrated with a bowling party in L.A. Here he is with his buddies Velvet Revolver's Dave Kushner (and son Waylon) and Bryson. Scott also recently went on a special road trip to the deep South (Memphis, TN and Mobile, AL) with his lady, where they paid homage to Elvis at Graceland and the famous Sun Studios where The King was discovered and more Rock history went down than one could shake a stick at. No word on whether Scott sang "King" (or if he was devastated by the aura of Rock N' Roll history) (though I suspect he was.) Then in Mobile they went and saw the legendary Tom Waits in concert.

Matt White "Love" is coming!
hey everyone!
first and foremost, i hope you're all enjoying your summer.
sorry, it's been so long since i've written, but there is lots to catch you all up on!
my record label is about to release my 2nd single, which is "Love" and will be on your radio stations soon, so please make sure to start requesting it. my song "Love" will also be featured in an upcoming mcdonald's commercial. which is amazing! i actually just got back from LA where I was filming my little cameo role in the spot. everyone at mcdonald's and arnold (the ad agency) were super cool. i'm pretty sure that the commercial starts airing on september 1st.
i'm also about to shoot the video for "Love", which i'm so excited about, because we're shooting it in my hometown of new york city.
let's see, what else, oh yeah… i'm leaving on thursday for a little summer mini-tour, so make sure to check my website for all of the dates and come see me if you live in a city nearby the shows. i'm completely honored to be opening for the legendary B.B. King at his show in new hampshire. i'm also about to announce a bigger tour that goes from august 11th – september 11th, so stay tuned for those (and, yes! i'm finally coming to the west coast!).
canada, here I come! i'll be playing some shows with Sheryl Crow as well as some of mine own shows the last week of september/first week of october, so check out my website for those dates and more will be added soon. i think my album comes out there on september 2nd.
lastly, the people have spoken and selected a winner from salt lake city for the people's choice contest. i'm so looking forward to getting into the studio and recording the new version of "New York Girls" and going to the people's choice awards show with the winner in january.

Rooney limping to the finish line
we're limping our way to our last show of our 2007/2008 world tour literally. taylor has a broken toe, I have a broken heel, and we all have broken hearts that this all time fun summer run is about to end. thanks to everyone who helped us get through the past year including our wicked road crew, families, band friends, and especially, you fans who made it possible for us to go out and do what we love. we love you all. we'll be working on more studio recording the rest of the year and be back out next year. xxxxxxxxoooooooo.

Shwayze Featured Interview with Shwayze at Baller Status!
Baller Status caught up with Shwayze for a lengthy and often times hilarious interview filled with great quotes and an insight into Shwayze's musical tastes and daily life. Excerpt below:
"I used to listen to everything. I went through phases. I'm ADD, I'm a Gemini and like I'll listen to something for a long time and hold onto it and I gotta hop onto the next one. Like when I first started listening to music, I listened to the oldies like James Brown, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, you know, everything like that. Then I got into Bob Marley and Sublime, like the "stoner-chill feel good music," then I got into rock. And then I got into hip-hop like Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Wu-Tang. I have a whole bunch of influences."

Rise Against New Album: Appeal To Reason, and Fall Tour
That's right, our new record, Appeal To Reason, has been completed and will be released October 7th, 2008. As you may know, we have once again teamed up with our friends Bill Stevenson & Jason Livermore, who produced Appeal To Reason at the Blasting Room, along with their capable team of engineers. Bill & Jason are the genius' behind The Sufferer & The Witness and also the responsible for the re-mix of our first record, The Unraveling on Fat Wreck, as well as numerous other songs, including our recent cover of "Little Boxes" for the show "Weeds."
If that wasn't exciting enough, we've teamed up with some old friends for a fall tour and are hoping to bring it to your town. RISE AGAINST, ALKALINE TRIO, THRICE, THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM. We considered giving the tour some fancy name, but then realized that nothing looks or sounds as good as those four bands together, in our own humble opinion. See you this fall !
